The ultimate lactation smoothie recipe

As breastfeeding mothers of young babies, we are constantly worrying if our baby is feeding enough.  It is especially difficult to measure feeds if we’re not using a bottle so we are left to count wet diapers, keep a close eye on weight gain etc. A lot of new mums are concerned about low supply so today, I will  share a recipe with you which will help boost your milk supply.  Not only is it a healthy and highly nutritious addition to your diet but  will keep you feeling full for longer.

Ultimate Lactation Smoothie Recipe:

This is chock full of galactagogues ( foods that boost milk supply). I will mention alternative items you can use to make it easier for ya’ll. You can increase or decrease the amount of ingredients depending on how thick you want it to be:

  • 1 cup spinach/ kale
  • 1 avocado/ 1 apple/1 banana ( you can add all 3)
  • Dates ( depending on how sweet you want it)
  • coconut milk/ almond milk/ organic cow milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut / almond butter
  • cinnamon ( dal cheeni powder)  to taste
  • fenugreek ( methi daana) powder

Blend it well together and drink it up with our Lactation muffins and/or Lactation cookies for best results.
